Esporles celebrates the 20th Fira Dolça this weekend, one of Mallorca’s autumn gastronomic events in which traditional pastries take centre stage. The programme runs from 2 to 4 October, although the main day of the fair will be Sunday 4 October.

This year the event reaches its twentieth edition. The poster was created by local artist Xisca Nadal and depicts Esporles’ Passeig together with the distinctive ice creams that have become one of the images associated with the history of the Fira Dolça.

This Saturday 3 October, the 3rd Dolça Nit de l’Art will serve as a prelude to the main day, with a range of artistic activities, music and gastronomy. Highlights include a tasting of local wines and cakes, featuring wines from Rondalla, Ses Rotes, Es Verger d’Esporles and Son Vich de Superna, cakes by Aina Aulí by La Bulé Xef and the participation of sommelier Andreu Oliver Tril. Tickets for this activity are already sold out.

On Sunday, the streets of Esporles will become a major showcase for Mallorcan pastries, including ensaïmadas, crespells, cocas, ice creams, chocolate and other sweets. The official opening and an address by Xisca Nadal are scheduled for 10 am, while at 11.30 am chef Miquel Serra will give a live cooking demonstration, preparing sobrassada cremadillos and carob cream, followed by a tasting for the public.

The programme also includes crafts, children’s activities, music, popular culture and the 19th Territori Verdesca, held on Saturday and Sunday with a variety of activities, including those related to wood carving and chainsaw work.

Due to the weather forecast, Esporles Town Council has announced that some activities may move to alternative venues only in the event of rain, while retaining their scheduled times. Any changes or cancellations will be announced through the council’s official channels.
