Wine Days DO Binissalem Festival Consolidates Its Position as One of the Major Enogastronomic Events of the Mallorcan Spring

The emblematic Cloister of Sant Francesc was once again filled last night with glasses, toasts, and Mediterranean atmosphere on the occasion of the Wine Days DO Binissalem Festival, an event that has already become essential in Mallorca’s gastronomic and cultural calendar. Wine, organic gastronomy, live music, and solidarity came together during an evening that brought together around 1,200 people in the heart of Palma’s historic centre.

The Wine Days Festival marked the beginning of the 13th edition of Wine Days Mallorca, the wine tourism programme promoted by DO Binissalem, which until May 31 will offer experiences linked to wine, territory, and Mallorca’s wine-growing culture.

During the evening, 10 wineries from the Binissalem Designation of Origin participated, offering visitors a carefully selected range of wines and new vintages in the unique heritage setting of the Gothic cloister of Sant Francesc, once again transformed into the perfect showcase for the wines of the DO region.

The gastronomic proposal came from APAEMA’s Ecoteca. Chef Joan Toni Ripoll and his team prepared four tapas made with organic and quality-certified products from the Balearic Islands, including PGI Sobrassada de Mallorca, PDO Oli de Mallorca, PDO Oliva de Mallorca, PDO Mahón-Menorca Cheese, and PGI Almond of Mallorca, reinforcing their commitment to local and sustainable produce.

Live music by the group EIMA accompanied the evening with a fresh and elegant repertoire, combining original songs and covers that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the event. Their performance brought rhythm and emotion to a night in which the cloister was transformed into a vibrant setting full of encounters, toasts, and celebrations around Mallorcan wine.

The event, held from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm, sold out and brought together both residents and visitors of different nationalities, consolidating the Wine Days Festival as one of Mallorca’s most popular and eagerly awaited wine and gastronomy events.

At 8 pm, the institutional toast took place with the attendance of local authorities, including Víctor Martí, Mayor of Binissalem, and Pep Lluís Urraca, Mayor of Santa Eugènia; island representatives Pilar Amate, Councillor for Economic Promotion and Local Product, and Pedro Mas, Island Director of Tourism, both from the Council of Mallorca; and regional authorities led by Joan Simonet, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, accompanied by the Director General for Agri-food Quality and Local Product, together with representatives of Balearic quality labels, collaborators, and friends of DO Binissalem.

The festival also maintained its charitable character by donating €1 from every glass sold to the Mallorca Food Bank Foundation. During the event, José Luis Roses, President of the Regulatory Council of DO Binissalem, presented a symbolic cheque for €1,200 to the Mallorca Food Bank Foundation, received by its president, Raminundo Montis. This donation, corresponding to the solidarity fundraising from the previous edition, reaffirms the social commitment of DO Binissalem.

Wine Days Mallorca will continue until May 31 with an extensive programme of activities in wineries, vineyards, and unique spaces within the wine-growing region: guided tastings, food pairings, concerts, vineyard tours, workshops, and wine tourism proposals for all audiences.
