The Department of Economy of the Island Council of Menorca, in collaboration with the Es Migjorn Gran Town Council, is organizing a new fair dedicated to local products and Menorcan crafts. It will be held on Saturday, March 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the central streets of the municipality.

The fair will bring together stalls from local product producers and artisans from Menorca, with the aim of highlighting the work of the primary and craft sectors, encouraging local consumption and bringing local production closer to citizens in a welcoming and participatory environment.

In addition, the event will feature an area with animals from native Menorcan breeds, as well as a wide program of complementary activities for all audiences. Highlights include children’s activities, a fandango dance gathering, and gastronomic demonstrations of traditional Menorcan cuisine.

The Minister of Economy, Maria Antònia Taltavull, stressed the importance of initiatives like this to strengthen Menorca’s economic model. “Supporting local products means supporting our economy, our land, and the people who, with effort and perseverance, keep Menorca’s primary and craft sectors alive. These fairs help give visibility to essential work and raise awareness among citizens about the importance of consuming locally produced goods.”

Taltavull added that the fair is also an opportunity to strengthen ties between producers, institutions and citizens. “We want local products to be out in the streets, to be part of everyday life in our towns, and to be a central element of our economic model, based on quality, sustainability and Menorcan identity.”

The minister also thanked the Es Migjorn Gran Town Council for its collaboration and all participating producers and artisans for their involvement, emphasizing that “joint work between administrations and the sector is key to continuing to promote initiatives that strengthen the local economic fabric.”
