Foodies on Menorca joins the Balearic Islands' bid for European Region of Gastronomy 2030

Foodies on Menorca has formally endorsed the Balearic Islands' candidacy for European Region of Gastronomy 2030, an initiative seeking to position the archipelago among Europe's leading regions for food culture, product quality and the richness of its culinary heritage.

Through this endorsement, Foodies on Menorca reaffirms its commitment to promoting Menorcan gastronomy, supporting local producers and sharing the recipes, customs and traditions that define Menorca's food identity.

The candidacy offers an opportunity to raise the international profile of the gastronomic diversity of the four islands, each with its own personality but united by a shared Mediterranean culture.

For Foodies on Menorca, gastronomy is much more than a restaurant offering. It encompasses cultural heritage, landscape, agriculture, livestock farming, fishing, artisanal food production and the transmission of knowledge between generations. It is also a means of economic development and of promoting a tourism model that values authenticity and the territory.

The platform considers it particularly important that Menorca should have a prominent place within this candidacy, recognising its traditional cuisine, distinctive products, artisan producers and the work of restaurant professionals who help promote the island's gastronomy.

The endorsement also strengthens the work carried out by Foodies on Menorca through its magazine, digital platform and gastronomic promotion initiatives, aiming to give visibility to both traditional cuisine and new culinary proposals.

Looking ahead to 2030, Foodies on Menorca adds its support to a collective project seeking to make Balearic gastronomy a source of European recognition, while preserving the roots and identity of each island.
