Bep Al·lès/Ciutadella - This week, Balear Grup opens Marendins, a new dining venue on Passeig des Moll in Ciutadella that looks to the future while remaining true to its roots. The concept brings back the spirit of the original Cafè Balear, when it was a genuine harbour tavern where freshly landed fish, seafood, tapas and lively conversations around the bar took centre stage.
Marendins is a contemporary seafood tavern built around fresh Mediterranean produce and a menu designed for sharing. Guests will find oysters, cockles, cured seafood, smoked specialities, carpaccios, tartares, shellfish and a carefully selected range of tapas that celebrate the simplicity and quality of outstanding ingredients.
The restaurant preserves the gastronomic DNA that has made Cafè Balear an icon of Menorcan seafood cuisine, while presenting it through a modern, relaxed and informal concept. The bar, carefully selected wines, vermouths and signature cocktails become the heart of an experience designed to enjoy the sunset overlooking Ciutadella Harbour.
The name Marendins reflects its close relationship with the sea and Menorca's maritime heritage. It recalls the traditional harbour taverns where time was measured in shared tapas, good wine and the freshest catch of the day.
With this new opening, Balear Grup expands its culinary offering while staying true to the values that built Cafè Balear's reputation: outstanding seafood, respect for quality ingredients and the pleasure of sharing Mediterranean cuisine by the sea.
