Sweet and Savoury Coca Contest at Casino 17 de Gener

This Saturday, 12th July at 8:30 p.m., in front of the New Casino, the 8th SWEET AND SAVOURY COCA CONTEST will be held, organised by the Casino 17 de Gener.

This is already a traditional event celebrating Menorcan pastry-making and is open to anyone who wishes to take part.

This year, the evening will feature live music by “JOANA PONS WITH HER GUITARS”.

Anyone who fills in the registration form available at the Casino 17 de Gener concierge desk (Avinguda Constitució, 18, Ciutadella de Menorca) and complies with the contest rules may participate.

Each participant may present as many cocas as they wish, whether savoury or sweet, in any shape they prefer.
Each coca must contain at least half a kilo of flour (8 servings).
Any ingredients and utensils may be used for preparation and baking.
Cocas must be brought fully baked from home.

The submission time for the cocas will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Once entered in the contest, the cocas will remain at the organisation’s disposal, which will serve them free of charge to the public after the awards ceremony.

Two prizes will be awarded: one for the best savoury coca and one for the best sweet coca.
The jury will be made up of people appointed by the organisers, and their decision will be final.
