Foodies on Menorca
Bep Al·lès / Ciutadella – Menorca is a land of authentic flavours, fresh produce, and cuisine with a strong identity. But there’s also room —and plenty of demand— for proposals that combine this local spirit with the best of international street food. This is where Gastrobar Impar shines, an establishment in Cala en Blanes that has turned casual good taste into a true statement of intent.
Just steps from the sea and close to Cala en Blanes beach, with a relaxed yet carefully designed atmosphere, Impar has become a meeting point for locals and visitors seeking more than just a quick bite. Its secret? A short but well-curated menu, featuring two standout specialties: signature pizzas and artisan burgers that compete in creativity and flavour.
At Impar, pizza is not just an easy option —it’s a culinary statement designed to surprise. It all starts with a thin, light, crispy dough, slowly fermented, serving as the canvas for striking combinations. We’re not just talking margheritas or four-cheese (though they do them, and very well), but pizzas with premium ingredients, local touches, and clever fusions.
Among the favourites are the fresh pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, sliced Menorcan tomato, parmesan shavings, fresh basil, virgin olive oil, and oregano —an ode to summer flavours— and the gourmet “Confitada” pizza for the more foodie palate, with tomato sauce, mozzarella, candied pear, Brie cheese, bacon, and walnuts.
The burger menu deserves special mention: perfectly toasted brioche buns, juicy Menorcan meat of top quality (with beef, chicken, and even vegan options), and a clear commitment to well-thought-out combinations. Each burger has its own unique, balanced identity.
We recommend the “Doble Smash”, which took part in the Menorcan beef burger route —a double burger made with 100% Menorcan beef, Menorcan cheese, cheddar cheese, rocket, and serrano ham. A true tribute to local produce and intense flavour.
Impar’s offer goes beyond pizzas and burgers. The menu also includes starters to share like bravas with two sauces or four-cheese, nachos with meat; Asian-inspired dishes like Indian-style falafel, bao bun with pork cheek, prawn gyozas, salmon or chicken poke; as well as classic tapas like battered calamari, garlic prawns, marinated anchovies, steamed mussels, or Andalusian-style baby squid, plus fried eggs with sobrasada or baby eels.
Other must-tries include the Menorcan beef cachopo, salmon tartare, and house specialties such as roast lamb, Menorcan beef entrecôte, cod au gratin with honey mayonnaise, or hake with saffron sauce.
With a young, friendly, and efficient team, and an atmosphere that suits both a romantic dinner and an informal meet-up with friends, Gastrobar Impar has earned a spot on Menorca’s culinary map.
One of those must-visit stops if you’re in Ciutadella and want to eat well, with style but without fuss, easy parking, and an excellent quality-price ratio.
