Gastroselect highlights the less visible work behind Menorcan gastronomy at the Foodies on Menorca Awards

The latest edition of the Foodies on Menorca Gastronomy Awards has received the support of Gastroselect Club Gastronómico, represented on the jury by José Bosch, who has publicly highlighted the value of awards that also recognise the steady, discreet and often overlooked work carried out by many professionals in the sector.

Bosch noted on social media that it is easy to focus on those who are already successful or fashionable, but stressed that Menorca’s restaurant sector is also built on years of craftsmanship, dedication and daily work serving both local residents and visitors.

In this context, he highlighted the awards presented to Pau Sintes and La Cocina de Cristine, at Cristine Bedfor; Micat; La Terraza del Balear, at Villa Le Blanc Gran Meliá; Cas Cònsol; Loar; Calucha; Ca na Marga; Pins 46; Sur Menorca; Lluís Febrer; Aceites Francisco Almagro and Binitord.

Bosch also placed particular emphasis on the recognition given to Francisco and Maria Aurea, from Mr. Bep’s, and Luis, from L’Àncora, whose careers have been defined by consistency and dedication.

“Quiet work also deserves recognition” sums up his view of awards that aim to give visibility to people and projects that contribute every day to keeping Menorcan gastronomy alive and helping it grow.
