Eight Michelin-starred chefs call on President Prohens to promote events that highlight the gastronomy and haute cuisine of the Balearic Islands

The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, has received in audience seven Michelin-starred chefs from the Balearic Islands, including Andreu Genestra (Andreu Genestra), Miguel Navarro (Es Fum), Macarena de Castro (Maca de Castro), Álvaro Salazar (Voro), Fernando P. Arellano (Zaranda), Marc Fosh (Marc Fosh) and Óscar Molina (La Gaia). Adrián Quetglas (Adrián Quetglas), although he was expected to attend, was ultimately unable to take part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the chefs conveyed to the president the need to give greater visibility to a sector that culturally defines us. In the words of chef Álvaro Salazar, “during the meeting, a brainstorming session was held on future experiences that can help grow and improve the gastronomic sector of the Balearic Islands.”

For her part, President Prohens took note of the proposals presented and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the gastronomic sector, also highlighting its role as one of the main hallmarks of the Balearic Islands and as a driver of economic and cultural development.
