Can Gras, the essence of a village bar in Binissalem

Can Gras is one of those bars that keep the soul of the village alive. Located in the heart of Binissalem, it is a regular meeting point for locals, offering a simple menu deeply rooted in Mallorcan tradition. This is not a place to look for sophistication, but rather for classic tapas, served without frills and with the comforting flavour of homemade cooking.

Our visit began with a variado, a mixed platter that perfectly reflects the spirit of the place. The Mallorcan frit, tasty and well seasoned, was the standout dish, with an intense flavour that calls for bread. The tongue with capers, tender and nicely balanced in acidity, stood out above the rest. The tripe, hearty and straightforward, meets expectations for a traditional bar, while the Russian salad, unsurprising but reliable, adds a fresh and classic touch.

Service is friendly and unhurried, in keeping with the relaxed pace of village life. That said, not everything is positive: a notable downside is the lack of cleanliness in the restrooms, an issue that detracts from the overall experience and should be addressed.

All in all, Can Gras remains an honest choice for enjoying authentic Mallorcan tapas in a popular, no-frills setting.
