Ca na Fayas receives the Local Commerce Award at the Setmanari El Iris Awards

The traditional Ciutadella shop Ca na Fayas has received the Local Commerce Award at the Setmanari El Iris Awards, presented on March 7, in recognition of its long-standing trajectory and its commitment to Menorcan products.

Founded in 1926, Ca na Fayas is one of the historic shops in Ciutadella and forms part of the commercial fabric that has shaped the daily life of several generations of residents. For almost a century, the family business has preserved the essence of local commerce, specializing in Mahón-Menorca cheese, traditional cured meats and other gastronomic products from the island.

The jury of the Setmanari El Iris Awards granted the Local Commerce Award to highlight the consistency of a business that has successfully combined tradition with adaptation to modern times, without losing its identity or its close relationship with local producers.

This recognition highlights the role of Ca na Fayas as a reference point in Ciutadella’s traditional commerce, as well as a place where both residents and visitors can find some of the most representative products of Menorcan gastronomy.

The award also underlines the importance of preserving local shops as an essential part of local identity and economy.
