“4 Cadires” celebrates 5 years of creating a family

Miriam Triay / Ciutadella – At the beginning of 2020 Tobal Caules and his wife, Marga Orfila, decided to embark on a new adventure. The project, 4 Cadires, which was born from an illusion, ended up becoming an establishment where you can be with family, where you can create relationships and where you can form friendships. Now, and after a decade of enjoying and sharing, the establishment wants to celebrate with its regular customers, both in summer and all year round, their company, their support, and their presence. Thus, on the 15th and 16th of August, the place will reopen its doors, and will host a summer party where you can enjoy together.

Formed as a gastropub, the premises located at Carrer de Sant Pere, 11, have been offering the public, both Menorcan and foreign, the opportunity to enjoy good and selected wines, tapas and gourmet starters for five years. A project that can be defined as a recovered passion, as a return to the origins.

Coming from the Cafè Balear family, gastronomy and the world of wine have always been linked to him, from his roots. Specializing in wines, he has been at the head of the commercial management of Catchot Gourmet for almost three decades. It was not until five years ago, however, that the desire to experience behind the bar all the emotions he remembered from when he was a child, moved him to start a particular project. “I have always had a strong desire, a need to be behind a bar, to feel again that feeling of when I was little running between my parents' legs, behind the bar of the ‘Bale’, a feeling that I thought would disappear over the years and it hasn’t been like that”. A feeling that has now been recovered.

Thus, 4 chairs is a family project, a return to the origins, and a renewal moving forward. A conjunction between Caules’ passion for wines, for the oenological world, and his family memory. But it is also an illusion, linked to the cultural world that characterizes him. In his most impulsive facet, which leads him to organize different events. From small live music concerts, to themed parties like the one we will see on August 15 and 16.

Behind it, however, is not only Tobal Caules. But we also find his wife, as we have said before, Marga Orfila; and his brother-in-law, Tavio Orfila. “Without them the project would not be what it is. The three of us make up and we are the 4 chairs.

Together with all the people who have accompanied us. From the first client to the last. We are all now part of a big family”.

It is this union, right, that we want to celebrate. This support and this constancy. The way in which the project has been able to grow thanks to the people who have been part of it. And which, now, deserves a party ‘as God commands’. “It is a way of calling our regular customers, both summer and winter, and thanking them for everything they have done and are doing; and what they mean to us. For this reason, not only will we open the premises for them for two days, but we will also give them some surprises, some gifts, such as different product and experience raffles. A celebration that is sponsored by Ginebra Glop -Biniarbolla- and Estrella Damm”.

4 Cadires has ended up becoming the reference establishment for many Ciutadella residents, Menorcans, and visitors, when it comes to living different experiences. From tastings and pairings, to sunset parties and meetings with friends. A project born during the pandemic, which after having gone through various adversities, has always come out ahead. “And it's all thanks to the incredible team that has accompanied us since day one, to the people loyal to 4 Cadires. Thank you from the bottom of my heart”.

“At the end of next month, on Saturday, September 27, we will definitely open our doors again, to start a new season”.
