Sant Joan Gran: artisanal cheeses along the Macarella road

The Sant Joan Gran farm, located very close to the Sant Joan de Missa hermitage along the Macarella road, is a benchmark for artisanal produce in western Menorca. Set in a privileged rural environment, this family-run farm is known for producing Mahón-Menorca Designation of Origin cheeses, as well as traditional cured meats and seasonal fruit and vegetables grown on the estate itself.

Their cheeses are especially appreciated for their flavour and texture, the result of a respectful farming model. The cows graze freely and feed mainly on grass, a key factor reflected in the quality of the milk and the final product.

Cheese ageing and maturation are carried out naturally, following traditional methods and with a limited production, ensuring careful attention to every cheese.

Sant Joan Gran products can be purchased directly at the farm or on Saturday mornings at the Ciutadella Market Square, offering visitors a chance to experience the authentic taste of Menorca’s countryside.
