Foodies on Menorca
Gastronomy is one of the key elements of the Sant Joan celebrations, and this June food lovers will have a unique opportunity to discover its culinary traditions. Can Saura Museum in Ciutadella is hosting a new edition of its popular Sant Joan Cuisine Demonstrations with Tasting Sessions, an event open to everyone that combines live cooking demonstrations with tastings of traditional dishes associated with Menorca’s most iconic festivities.
The programme features three sessions dedicated to some of the most representative recipes of the season. On June 4, visitors will discover the art of making savoury cocas; on June 11, the focus will be on the traditional menjar blancdessert; and on June 16, participants will learn about the preparation of the famous Sant Joan ensaimadas, one of Menorca’s most beloved festive pastries.
Organised with the collaboration of Sa Cooperativa del Camp de Menorca, the activities provide a unique opportunity to explore local ingredients, traditional recipes and the island’s rich culinary heritage in the historic setting of Can Saura Museum.
It is important to note that all activities are completely free and open to the public, although places are limited. Advance registration is therefore required through the municipal website www.ajciutadella.org, where tickets can be booked starting on June 1 at 8:00 p.m.
An ideal experience for foodies, culture enthusiasts and anyone interested in discovering the authentic flavours of Sant Joan and Menorca.
