Sa Forana, the strength of a small family-run winery at the heart of Menorca

Sa Forana is a winemaking project founded in 2003, born from a passion for wine and a strong commitment to Menorca’s countryside. Brothers Carles and Xavier Solano decided to give new life to abandoned land in Sant Climent that was not suitable for other types of agricultural use. Their aim was clear: to restore these fields and give them meaning through viticulture, a field they knew well thanks to their previous experience in hospitality and wine distribution.

The project began in a very modest, almost home-based way, but over the years Sa Forana has grown gradually and in a carefully controlled manner. Today, more than twenty years later, the winery already involves the second generation, employs qualified staff and has a well-established professional structure, while never losing the family character that defines it.

Sa Forana currently has three hectares of estate-owned vineyards and also manages neighbouring plots, allowing for balanced and flexible production. The winery produces four wines: two whites and two reds. On the one hand, the Sa Forana range includes a barrel-fermented white and an oak-aged red, wines that are more structured and complex. On the other, the 600 metres range is made up of young, fresh and light wines, both white and red.

Far from seeking uncontrolled growth, Sa Forana is committed to limited, quality-driven production, focusing on mid- to high-range wines. Guided tours offer visitors the chance to experience this philosophy first-hand, discover the winemaking process and taste wines that faithfully reflect the essence of a small family-run estate deeply rooted in the land.
