Sa Fireta highlights local products and Menorcan cuisine in Es Migjorn Gran

Es Migjorn Gran is preparing to host the first edition of Sa Fireta, a fair dedicated to Menorca’s traditions that will take place next Saturday, March 28, with a clear focus on local products and farm-to-table gastronomy.

Under the slogan “The roots that unite us”, the event will combine crafts, popular culture and, especially, a gastronomic offer centered on Menorcan identity.

The program includes several culinary demonstrations that will showcase the island’s flavors. Renowned Mallorcan chef Miquel Calent will offer a gastronomic exhibition using local products, highlighting the richness and versatility of contemporary Menorcan cuisine. In addition, visitors will be able to discover traditional recipes as well as new interpretations that connect past and present.

The fair will also feature spaces dedicated to agri-food products, where local producers will exhibit and sell high-quality foods, from cheeses and cured meats to other local specialties. This reinforces Sa Fireta’s role as a showcase for the primary sector and food sustainability.

At the same time, demonstrations of traditional crafts, such as esparto grass weaving and metalwork, will complement the experience, creating an atmosphere that evokes Menorca’s rural roots. All of this will be combined with popular activities, music and traditional dance, turning the town into a meeting point for residents and visitors.

Sa Fireta, organized by the Department of Economy of the Consell de Menorca, Made in Menorca and the Es Migjorn Gran Town Council, is thus established as a must-attend event to discover Menorcan culture and gastronomy in a festive and authentic setting. It is the first spring fair in Menorca featuring crafts, agri-food products, fandango dancing, gastronomic demonstrations and native Menorcan breeds.
