Poc a Poc Ferments adds a kombucha made in Menorca to its new products for 2026

Kombucha made in Menorca is also beginning to find its place among the island’s new artisan products. Poc a Poc Ferments, a project based in Sant Lluís, has introduced its own kombucha in 2026, with a focus on Mediterranean flavours and organic ingredients.

The product we have discovered is presented under the name Mediterranean Kombucha and, according to the label itself, is made with Menorcan chamomile, citrus fruits and ginger. It is sold in a 250 ml bottle and is presented as a theine-free drink, a feature that sets it apart from many kombuchas made from green or black tea.

Kombucha is a fermented beverage traditionally produced through the combined action of yeasts and bacteria. In recent years, it has become increasingly popular as an alternative to conventional soft drinks and has encouraged the emergence of numerous small projects specialising in artisan fermentation.

In the case of Poc a Poc Ferments, its Menorcan identity is particularly evident in the use of Menorcan chamomile and an aromatic combination with a clear Mediterranean inspiration. The citrus fruits provide freshness, while the ginger adds a livelier, spicier counterpoint.

This new product also broadens the range of transformed products made in Menorca, at a time when artisan fermented foods and drinks are attracting growing gastronomic interest. It is a different proposition that offers another way of working with ingredients connected to the island and places fermentation within the movement of new Menorcan producers.
