Gastronomic awards for Hipòlito Medrano and IB3

The ACA Musical Foundation will present the 18th Mallorcan Gastronomy Recognition Award to Hipòlito Medrano, for his contribution to Mallorcan viticulture. Among other merits, he is the restorer of the Malvasia variety. The awards will be presented at the viewpoint of the ACA Foundation in Búger on June 14 at 7:30 p.m.

The retired UIB professor and expert in plant physiology created the Nacra organic wine cellar on the family estate of Son Corró, after retiring from teaching and university research. And precisely in the vineyard he runs there is a unique collection in the world of Malvasia varieties that we have in the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Madeira, Italy, Croatia and Greece.

While the Recognition for the audiovisual dissemination of Mallorcan gastronomy will also be given to IB3, which has broadcast a good number of gastronomic programs since 2005. Both the programs "Fred i Calent" and "Uep com anam" have passed through the Foundation's facilities at one time or another. But the list of programs focused on gastronomy is much more extensive and varied.
