The Casa Gastronòmica de Ferreries has presented its programme of activities for the coming months, combining Menorcan gastronomy, training, gatherings for members and activities aimed at keeping both the island’s culinary culture and the association’s social spirit alive.
The first event will take place this Sunday, 27 September, with a perols des forn lunch, prepared by Tomeu, Xavi, Biel and Marc. On 18 October, there will be a group lunch with Xavi Camps, while on 30 October, at 7 pm, a blind wine tasting led by Espe and Andreu is scheduled, followed by homemade pizza prepared by Germán and Carlos, subject to confirmation.
Cuisine closely linked to the traditional calendar will take centre stage on 1 November, with the All Saints’ Day Lunch, featuring arròs brut and fritters. On 6 November there will be another wine tasting, this time with food pairings, and on 28 or 29 November a community mushroom paella will be held in Plaça d’Espanya.
December will begin with a nougat workshop on 11 December, led by Lluís Febrer. On the 15th, the period for members to join or leave the association will open; on the 19th there will be a Christmas concert and vermouth, and on the 22nd the traditional berenar del cordó will be held. The year will end on 31 December with the general assembly and members’ lunch.
In 2027, the programme will continue with the Sant Antoni paella on 17 January, prepared by Tomeu and José, and cookery workshops for members on 12 and 19 January. On 14 February, Víctor and Tomeu will prepare oven-baked rice and dry rice with game.
One of the programme’s highlights will take place between 26 February and 1 March, with a gastronomic trip, expected to be to Mallorca, although the destination will depend on logistical and financial considerations.
The programme will conclude on 20 March with the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Casa Gastronòmica de Ferreries, featuring a lunch and concert at the Ferreries Auditorium.
