Cafè Balear’s proposal for the Fish Festival, an open-minded take on seafood cuisine

Cafè Balear, in Ciutadella harbour, presents for the Fish Festival a proposal that champions seafood from different perspectives, combining tradition, contemporary sensitivity and a clear respect for its origin. The menu traces a coherent and carefully considered journey, one that highlights fish not only as the main ingredient, but also as an expression of place, seasonality and thoughtful cooking.

The tomato salad with pickles and ray brings freshness, contrast and a strong sense of character. The dogfish soup connects with the most traditional and comforting side of local cuisine, full of memory and flavour. Meanwhile, the red scorpionfish in escabeche introduces intensity, nuance and an elegant interpretation of a deeply local product. Altogether, the menu works with balance and purpose, offering three dishes that speak to one another and showcase different ways of understanding seafood. A proposal with real identity, designed to honour Menorcan culinary tradition while also opening it to new interpretations.
