Binigarba: cheeses rooted in history at the archaeological heart of Menorca

The Binigarba farm, located in the western part of Menorca within the municipality of Ciutadella, embodies a close link between land, history and agri-food tradition. Set in an exceptional environment, it lies between two of the island’s most iconic megalithic monuments: the Naveta des Tudons and the Taulas of Torretrencada, remarkable remains from the pre-Talayotic period, dating back to the early Bronze Age around 1500 BC.

Livestock are mainly fed on the farm’s own natural pastures, complemented by a carefully selected range of balanced feeds, ensuring a sustainable and high-quality production.

Binigarba also operates a breeding unit of sows, fed with products from the farm. Pork production supplies local butcher shops and is also used to make traditional artisanal cured meats.

The farm is especially renowned for its cheeses, widely appreciated across Menorca for their flavour, texture and artisanal craftsmanship. Alongside traditional cheeses protected by the Maó-Menorca Designation of Origin, their herb-seasoned semi-cured cheeses stand out, flavoured with oregano, basil or rosemary.

Artisanal cured meats, butter and brossat (fresh curd cheese) complete the range, making Binigarba a benchmark for high-quality Menorcan produce.
