11th Edition of the Silver Manto Negro Recognition – DO Binissalem 2025

11th Edition of the Silver Manto Negro Recognition – DO Binissalem 2025

The Binissalem Designation of Origin will once again dress up for the 11th edition of the Silver Manto Negro Recognition, an award that highlights careers and projects closely linked to the culture of wine and gastronomy in Mallorca. The event will take place on Saturday, 13 December 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Casal de Can March – Binissalem Wine Museum.

This year, the recognition will honour Restaurant Can March (Manacor), on the occasion of its centenary and for its gastronomic and oenological proposal faithful to local products, as well as Mr Julio Martínez-Almoyna Rullán, for his long-standing passion for gastronomy and wine and for his career as a member of the DO Binissalem Tasting Panel since 1990.

The event will also bring together some award recipients from previous editions, friends of DO Binissalem, along with regional and local authorities.

The setting could not be more fitting: the Casal de Can March, recently acquired by the Town Council and planned to house a future Wine Museum. This Baroque mansion preserves a façade dating from the early 18th century—remodelled around 1770—with three wrought-iron balconies in the Louis XV style, and retains the essence of traditional Binissalem architecture: wine cellar, vats, stables, courtyard, garden and the interiors of a classic Mallorcan home.
