The Island Council supports Menorcan producers attending the Local Product Fair for the Day of the Balearic Islands

The Island Council of Menorca supports the Menorcan producers taking part in the Local Product Fair, held from 27 February to 2 March at s’Hort del Rei (Parc de la Mar, Palma), as part of the events celebrating the Day of the Balearic Islands.

This year, the event brings together 48 producers from Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, becoming a key showcase for the quality, diversity and added value of locally sourced products from the Islands.

Representing Menorca are the producers Hort Sant Patrici, Santa Cecília, Infusions de Menorca Son Aparets Nou, S’Arangí, Torre Trencadeta, Binigarba, Son Caravinya, S’Ullestrar and Cas Ferrer de sa Font, “companies that reflect the excellence of Menorca’s agri-food sector and the strength of our territory-linked production model,” stated the Councillor for Economy and General Services, Maria Antònia Taltavull.

During the fair, visitors can taste cheeses, wines, herbal infusions, processed products and other Menorcan specialties, as well as take part in gastronomic activities such as showcookings, including the participation of chef Diego Merino, from Miramar restaurant, as part of the Culinary Showcase.

“The Local Product Fair is not only a commercial opportunity, but also a space to highlight the primary sector, agri-food processing and the commitment to sustainability and quality products,” explained the councillor.

“The presence of Menorcan producers at this type of event helps strengthen the Menorca brand, promote economic diversification and generate opportunities for the primary sector and the agri-food industry, key elements to ensure a more balanced and resilient economy throughout the year,” concluded Taltavull.

The Council thus reiterates its commitment to continue supporting local products and the island’s producers, facilitating their promotion and external projection.
