The Casino 17 de Gener Sweet and Savoury Coca Competition will bring together homemade creations, live music and a jury featuring Foodies on Menorca

Menorca’s popular gastronomy will once again enjoy one of its most emblematic events on Saturday, 11 July, when Casino 17 de Gener organises a new edition of the Sweet and Savoury Coca Competition, a gathering that highlights one of the island’s great culinary heritages: artisanal homemade cocas.

The event will begin at 8.30 pm, in front of Casino Nou in Ciutadella, and will bring together dozens of participants presenting their creations in both the sweet and savoury categories. From traditional cocas with tomato, red peppers, vegetables, fish or cured meats to preparations with fruit, cream or preserves, the competition becomes each year a magnificent showcase of Menorca’s popular baking and cuisine.

This year’s edition will once again include the collaboration of Foodies on Menorca, which will take part in judging the entries through its director, Bep Al·lès, as a member of the jury. The presence of the gastronomic project reinforces the competition’s commitment to preserving traditional recipes and promoting Menorca’s food culture among residents and visitors.

Beyond the competition itself, the evening will become a true popular celebration, with tastings, a family atmosphere and a live performance by the group Entonats, who will liven up the night with their repertoire.
