The gastronomic association Fra Roger and Cáritas Menorca are celebrating the eleventh edition of the “Sopar de Nadal per a tothom” this Christmas, a well-established solidarity initiative in Menorca that has been running since 2014 with a clear goal: ensuring that no one is left without sharing a dignified meal during the Christmas season.
This year, the initiative introduces a renewed format, adapting to new circumstances and needs. Instead of the traditional dinner, it will take the form of a Christmas lunch on Christmas Eve at the Restaurant Escola Ca n’Aguedet, a venue linked to training and social inclusion. Around 40 people supported by Cáritas Menorca through its various social programmes will take part.
Beyond the meal itself, organisers highlight the human and social value of the gathering. The aim is to create a space for togetherness, closeness and shared celebration, allowing participants to feel welcomed and valued during a particularly meaningful time of year.
Over the past eleven years, the “Sopar de Nadal per a tothom” has become an example of community collaboration and social commitment, thanks to the continued involvement of chefs, volunteers, social organisations and partner companies across the island. This collective effort has ensured the continuity of a project that places human dignity at its core.
Fra Roger and Cáritas Menorca have expressed their sincere gratitude to all the individuals and companies that make this initiative possible year after year, as well as to the team behind its organisation. Special recognition has been given to Coca-Cola Menorca for its ongoing support.
With this new edition, both organisations reaffirm their commitment to a fairer and more inclusive Menorca, where sharing a meal also becomes a tool for social support and inclusion.
