Foodies on Menorca
Casino 17 de Gener in Ciutadella is organizing today, Friday May 22, an interesting talk and gathering dedicated to Calop Blanc, an ancient Balearic grape variety recently revived in Menorca and now transformed into a unique local white wine. The event is presented as an attractive complementary activity for foodies and travelers interested in discovering the island’s authentic gastronomy and wine culture.
The event will feature Enric Picanyol, owner of the vineyard Al Lloc de Sant Josep in Ferreries, who will explain the recovery process of Calop Blanc, a historic grape variety documented since the 18th century and found throughout Mallorca and Menorca. The initiative highlights Menorca’s agricultural heritage and the revival of native grape varieties closely linked to the territory.
The gathering will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the assembly hall of Casino 17 de Gener and will include a wine tasting for attendees, creating a complete sensory experience that combines culture, tradition, and gastronomy.
These kinds of activities reinforce the growing interest in gastronomic and wine tourism in Menorca, a destination that increasingly attracts visitors seeking authentic experiences connected to local products, landscapes, and the island’s history.
The activity is free of charge and is organized in collaboration with Foodies on Menorca.
