Alaior has closed this weekend the 38th edition of the Menorca Agricultural Fair, once again consolidating its position as one of the leading events for the farming and livestock sector in the Balearic Islands, despite adverse weather conditions.
This year’s edition was marked by rain, although this did not prevent the normal development of activities or participation from both the public and industry professionals. Friesian dairy cattle once again took centre stage in a competition that maintains a high level of quality and recognition both regionally and nationally.
Saturday’s opening day recorded strong visitor turnout and significant participation in the Friesian Cattle Morphological Contest, considered the most important in the Balearic Islands and among the most prominent in Spain.
The fair concluded on Sunday with the awards ceremony, following a day that included the Young Promises Contest, the parade of participating farms, and the official closing event.
The event was attended by institutional representatives and once again highlighted the strategic importance of the primary sector in Menorca. The high standard of the competition was widely acknowledged, particularly the productive and morphological quality of the livestock.
Top prizes were awarded to the best animals in different categories, reflecting the strong competitiveness of Menorca’s livestock farms.
Organisers have made a positive assessment of the fair, highlighting both participation and the strong sense of collaboration among professionals in the sector.
The Agricultural Fair thus reinforces its role as a key showcase for Menorca’s primary sector and as an essential meeting point for the island’s rural community.
