Tapas Month Turns Alaior into Menorca’s Gastronomic Capital This June

Food lovers, culinary enthusiasts and travellers seeking authentic experiences have a must-visit event in Menorca this June. Alaior is celebrating the “Tapas Month”, a gastronomic route that transforms the town into a showcase of culinary creativity, local products and Mediterranean atmosphere.

Throughout every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in June 2026, 11 venues will take part in the initiative, each offering a tapa specially created for the occasion. The event invites both residents and visitors to explore Alaior’s diverse food scene through a route that blends tradition, innovation and a wide variety of flavours.

Each tapa is available at a fixed price of €5, making the experience accessible and appealing to all audiences. From dishes featuring iconic Menorcan ingredients such as Mahón-Menorca cheese and sobrasada sausage to more contemporary creations inspired by international cuisine, the route showcases the vibrant culinary scene currently thriving in the town.

Among the featured tapas are an octopus montadito with sobrasada, artichoke with sobrasada and cheese, a mini truffle burger, fried pizza, salt cod esqueixada with citrus fruits, octopus carpaccio with Mahón cheese, a pulled pork bao bun with avocado cream, as well as sweet options such as tiramisu and cheesecake.

The route also includes a fun interactive element that turns the event into a true gastronomic adventure. Visitors receive a stamp in their gastronomic passport with every tapa they enjoy. Those who collect all eleven stamps will be entered into a draw to win a free full tapas tour, to be enjoyed during the last weekend of June.

Beyond the food itself, the initiative offers the perfect excuse to stroll through Alaior’s charming streets, discover its heritage, relax on its terraces and experience local life. It is an ideal example of modern gastronomic tourism, where travel is defined by flavours, local producers and memorable shared experiences.

For travellers visiting Menorca in search of more than just sun and beaches, Tapas Month in Alaior stands out as one of the island’s most attractive culinary experiences of the season, offering the chance to discover Menorca’s essence one bite at a time.
