This 2025 the 5th Menorcan Red Hamburger Route is celebrated with 34 proposals

The Association of Cattlemen and Cattlewomen of Menorca and Cómete Menorca have once again joined forces to organize the 5th Menorcan Red Hamburger Route. An event that aims to bring the meat of the native breed closer to all types of catering establishments. The hamburger format, which each chef will interpret in their own way to make them attractive and differentiated from each other, aims to make Menorcan Red meat known to the general public, in an affordable way. Compared to last year, four more establishments have been added, covering the entire island with proposals that can be tasted in each of the municipalities of Menorca.

It also aims to be a way of conveying that the minced meat with which the hamburger is made is an important and quality part of the animal, in the case of the calves of the native breed, which pass strict controls that guarantee the quality mark Vermella Menorquina. Among these controls are the purity of the animal's breed, the breeding method and animal welfare.

The 5th Route of the Vermella Menorquina Hamburger is possible thanks to the support of the Island Council and is co-financed by the European Union.

The route

The 34 catering establishments that have joined the initiative are spread throughout Menorca. All municipalities have at least one place that will offer a hamburger with Vermella Menorquina meat. Reaching this figure is a success in achieving the main objective of the Association, which is to give visibility and value to the product with the Menorcan Red quality seal and which includes meat, cheese and ice cream.
