The Island Council of Menorca is organizing this Sunday, 25 January, at 10:30 a.m., a themed guided tour of the Talayotic site of Torre d’en Galmés, focusing on the study of domestic life and the organization of dwellings (circles), with special attention to the excavated areas and the most recent archaeological discoveries.
Based on an analysis of the houses, the tour will explain everyday activities, household economy, family and community organization, as well as the archaeological evidence that makes it possible to reconstruct these aspects of Talayotic society.
The tour includes a comparison with the domestic architecture of the Andalusi period, highlighting continuities and differences in the conception of living space, and establishing a connecting thread with Menorca Day and the festival of Sant Antoni, as a symbolic expression of fire, the hearth and community over time. The expected duration is approximately 90 minutes.
Places are limited to 30 people and registration is essential by emailing info@menorcatalayotica.infoto confirm attendance. The meeting point will be the entrance to the Talayotic settlement of Torre d’en Galmés. This activity is open to the general public.
