The Gran Migjornale turns Es Migjorn Gran into an open-air art gallery for foodie travellers

Foodie travellers looking to discover a more creative side of Menorca, away from the island’s usual visitor routes, have an appointment on 22 and 23 August with Gran Migjornale, a special edition of Itinerant Art that will transform Es Migjorn Gran into a large open-air artistic trail.

Over two consecutive evenings, from 8.00 pm until midnight, streets, doorways and different spaces around the village will form part of an itinerary designed for leisurely exploration, bringing contemporary art into direct contact with local architecture and everyday village life. The 2026 edition is particularly significant, marking twenty years since the project began in 2006.

The event fits naturally into a foodie itinerary. Es Migjorn Gran retains the intimate scale and relaxed rhythm of a traditional Menorcan village, making it easy to combine the art trail with dinner, tapas or a drink before continuing to explore the different installations.

For gastronomic travellers, Gran Migjornale is also an opportunity to discover inland Menorca in the evening, when temperatures fall and village streets come alive again. It offers a cultural alternative that adds contemporary art and local life to an itinerary otherwise devoted to Menorcan food and restaurants.
