Foodies on Menorca
Foodie travellers visiting Menorca this weekend have an opportunity to discover another side of the island through Sant Miquel Pagès 2026, held in Es Migjorn Gran on 26 and 27 September. The programme brings together family activities, Menorcan baking, traditional rural tools, folk music and demonstrations linked to farming life.
On Saturday 26, from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm, Sa Plaça will host activities for children organised by Bota i Juga, including a Menorcan baking workshop for children and young people, family games and an inflatable play area.
Sunday’s programme begins at 10.30 am with mass at the parish church of Sant Cristòfol. From 11.15 am, visitors can watch a parade of carts and animals with traditional farming tools, accompanied by explanations from Jaume Riudavets. The folk group Aires des Migjorn and the local band will also take part.
At the same time, Sa Plaça will host a live llatra demonstration, showcasing a traditional Menorcan craft. The celebrations will end at 1.30 pm with a musical vermouth featuring Eva Pons Trio.
For foodie travellers, Sant Miquel Pagès is a particularly interesting way to understand the agricultural landscape behind many of Menorca’s foods and recipes. Baking, animals, tools, music and traditional crafts all reveal the close relationship between rural life, cuisine and territory.
