This Sunday, Ciutadella celebrates the Dia des Be (Saint John's Lambs Day), which marks the beginning of the Sant Joan festivities. The Junta de Caixers, accompanied by the fabioler, s’home des be and the descarregador, will make their way through the streets of Ciutadella.
The first sound of the fabiol on Diumenge des Be will take place at 9.00 a.m. in Plaça de la Catedral, at Ca n’Olivar, from where the route will begin.
It is an event much loved and deeply respected by the people of Ciutadella. Visitors who are on holiday in Ciutadella these days and wish to watch it should do so with the utmost respect, without occupying spaces or disturbing the route, which is carried out on foot.
Ciutadella Town Council will once again make available to the public the real-time tracking system for the procession during the main events of the Sant Joan festivities, an initiative being repeated after the positive response received in recent years.
The service will be operational during Diumenge des Be, next 21 June, as well as during the Saturday of Saint John and the Dia de Sant Joan. This action is made possible thanks to a geolocation device carried by the fabioler, which will allow his location to be shared live so that people can know where the procession is at any given moment and better plan their participation in the festivities.
The map, available through the link mapa.santjoan.ajciutadella.org, is already active. From today, the public can check the location of the home where the vetlla des Be will take place, scheduled for the 20th, and later, on the 22nd, the location of the different festers and street festivities.
