The Pedreres de s’Hostal will welcome Rancapino Chico on Thursday, 30 July, at 9.00 pm, as part of the Fosquets Líthica programme. He is regarded as one of today’s leading exponents of traditional flamenco singing.
Born Alonso Núñez Fernández, Rancapino Chico is the direct heir to one of flamenco’s most respected musical lineages. He is the son of the legendary singer Rancapino, the nephew of Orillo del Puerto and the great-grandson of La Obispa. Surrounded by flamenco from childhood, he first performed in public at the age of seven and has since become a passionate defender of the traditional songs of Cádiz.
His voice preserves the depth, honesty and emotional intensity of classic cante. At Líthica, he will be accompanied by Antonio Higuero on guitar, with Edu Gómez and Naim Real providing the rhythmic handclaps.
The towering sandstone walls of the former quarries and the atmosphere of the Menorcan evening will provide an extraordinary setting for the performance. For foodie travellers, the concert is an ideal way to end a day in Ciutadella: enjoy an early dinner or a few tapas in town before heading to Líthica for an unforgettable cultural experience.
