Menorca Jazz Festival brings Pepe Rivero and Javier Colina to Teatre des Born

The Menorca Jazz Festival presents a new highlight with the performance of Pepe Rivero and Javier Colina, two leading figures in the jazz scene, who will perform on Saturday, April 4 at the Teatre des Born in Ciutadella. The concert will begin at 8:30 PM and is part of the festival’s spring programme.

The artistic proposal revolves around the project El pañuelo de Pepa, a concept that blends sensitivity, tradition and improvisation, bringing together highly experienced musicians. On stage, Rivero on piano and Colina on double bass will be joined by Moisés Porro on percussion and Manuel Machado on trumpet, forming a line-up of outstanding quality and musical chemistry.

This concert offers a new opportunity to enjoy live jazz in Menorca, with a proposal that fuses Latin influences, flamenco and contemporary jazz. The festival continues to establish itself as one of the most relevant cultural events of the season, with a programme that features renowned artists and top-level musical experiences. It is also presented as an ideal complementary activity for travelling foodies looking to combine gastronomy and culture during their stay on the island.

Cuban pianist Pepe Rivero and double bassist Javier Colina, two key figures in the musical bridge between Europe and the Caribbean, present El Pañuelo de Pepa, a project that exudes elegance, connection and memory. Joined by Manuel Machado and Moisés Porro, the quartet highlights the essence of Cuban music, the danzón and the contradanzas of the legendary Manuel Saumell Robredo, while paying tribute to the legacy of Bebo Valdés, with whom Colina created one of the most celebrated collaborations in Latin jazz.

Tickets are available from €23 via the festival’s official website, where the purchase link is now active: www.menorcajazzfestival.com
