Maó’s s’Esplanada square will host the 1st Flower Market: La Camamil·la, an event designed to celebrate one of the plants most deeply rooted in Menorcan popular tradition. Taking place on May 15th, 16th and 17th, the market will feature flower and plant stalls, artisan products, workshops, exhibitions, tastings and educational activities linked to chamomile and the botanical heritage of the island.
The programme includes culinary demonstrations showcasing chamomile-based products such as snacks, cheeses, ice creams, liqueurs and even Talayotic-inspired beer, alongside book presentations, talks on sustainable gardening and educational activities. Local producers, artisans, herbalists and sustainability organisations from Menorca will also take part.
Highlighted activities include floral engraving workshops, floral candle-making sessions and flower-themed scrapbooking workshops, as well as tastings and live culinary demonstrations. Visitors will also enjoy traditional performances, storytelling and folk music.
The event will transform Maó into a meeting point for nature, culture and local gastronomy, offering residents and travellers a unique opportunity to discover Menorca through its aromas, flavours and traditions.
