Le Trio Joubran brings the sound of the oud to Líthica under the full moon

Foodie travellers visiting Menorca on Friday, 28 August can experience one of the most distinctive cultural events of the late summer. At 10.00 pm, the Pedreres de s’Hostal will welcome Le Trio Joubran, featuring Palestinian brothers Samir, Wissam and Adnan Joubran, for a special Full Moon Night as part of Fosquets Líthica.

Internationally regarded as leading contemporary masters of the oud, the Arab lute, the three brothers come from a renowned family of instrument makers. They have developed a musical language in which their three ouds converse, intertwine and often seem to merge into a single voice, moving effortlessly from meditative passages to exhilarating virtuosity.

Their international career has taken them to major venues around the world and led to collaborations with artists including Coldplay, Roger Waters and Dhafer Youssef. Yet their music remains deeply connected to Palestine and to a Mediterranean culture in which music can also become a vehicle for memory, identity and dialogue.

In Menorca, the performance will take on an added dimension. Líthica’s monumental sandstone walls, the August night and the full moon will provide a remarkable setting for an experience that goes well beyond a conventional concert.

For foodie travellers, the evening can begin with a walk through Ciutadella and an early dinner devoted to Menorcan cuisine before heading to Líthica for an immersion in Mediterranean music. Gastronomy, heritage, landscape and music come together to reveal another side of Menorca after dark.
