Foodies on Menorca
Foodie travellers exploring Menorca these days can complete their stay with a visit to LÔAC, Alaior Art Contemporani, which has just opened LÔCAL ART, a new space dedicated to artists born in or resident in Alaior.
The inaugural exhibition brings together 23 works by 23 local creators and offers an overview of the artistic talent linked to the municipality, with styles ranging from Menorcan landscape painting to abstraction, impressionism and figuration. The participating artists are Sanshuguet, Cosme Sans, Biel Garriga, Jaume Reurer, David Cerratot, Llorenç Pons, Cristina Cardona, Maribel Barceló, Pau Sintes, Frieder, José Ángel, Vicente Mora, Jaume Tanus, Marcel Villier, Laura Martínez, Pau Garriga, Sus Sintes, Kiko Murillo, Liz Spooner, Ana Pons, Ana Villalonga, Pau Rois and Xavi Timoner.
Promoted by Alaior Town Council and the Pinzellades d’Art gallery, this new space aims to give visibility to local talent and strengthen the link between contemporary art, cultural identity and territory.
For visitors interested in the most authentic side of Menorca, LÔCAL ART is an ideal proposal to combine with a gastronomic route through Alaior, a discovery of its historic centre and an approach to the creativity that also forms part of the island’s character.
The exhibition can be visited until October.
