The Ferreries Town Council will once again fill Spain Square with a festive atmosphere with a new edition of the Christmas Market, which will be held from 5 to 8 December and is presented as the official starting point of the holiday season in the municipality. This year, the fair will combine cultural and leisure proposals with a wide range of local artisan and gastronomic products.
On this occasion, the market will feature around thirty stalls where vendors will offer a great variety of typical seasonal products: Christmas decorations, nougat, handicrafts, plants, textiles and gift items. There will also be stands with traditional gastronomy and stalls selling local and Km 0 agri-food products.
The opening will take place on Friday 5 December at 6 pm, and will give way to the first scheduled activity: a parade by the Ferreries Skating Club. The group will skate through several streets until reaching Spain Square, where the public will be able to enjoy a Christmas carol performance that will provide the musical touch to the start of the market.
Throughout 6, 7 and 8 December, the fair will offer a varied programme with activities designed for all audiences: creative workshops, cooking demonstrations, live musical performances and family games. Among the main events, there will be a traditional dance organised to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the folk group Aires des Barranc d’Algendar, which will fill the square with music and tradition. The musical atmosphere will also play an important role throughout the fair. Various groups, such as Brou de Nadal or Los Hermanos Chavea —with a repertoire of flamenco Christmas carols— will bring the square to life with live performances.
This year, there will be a showcooking led by Cómete Menorca, with the aim of highlighting Menorcan products under the Made in Menorca label and showcasing new culinary uses based on local ingredients. Chef Irving Bravo, from the restaurant Santa Marianna, will prepare live a dish created especially for the occasion. In addition, as a novelty, the Ca n’Aguedet cooking school will manage the bar and food service in the central area of the fair, so that visitors can taste various gastronomic proposals prepared by its students from job placement programmes.
One of the most eagerly awaited moments will be the arrival of Father Christmas, who will visit the market on Sunday 7 December so that children and families can greet him and take a photo with him. On 6 December, there will also be a Christmas photocall so that everyone can take home a souvenir of their visit.
With this new edition of the Christmas Market, the Ferreries Town Council reaffirms its commitment to a festive proposal that combines tradition, culture and local revitalisation, and which marks the beginning of an extensive programme of events that will run from December until early January 2026. As the Councillor for Economic Promotion, Ramon Sintes, explains, “the aim is for the Christmas Market to be a meeting point for residents and visitors alike, with a warm, lively and fully Christmassy atmosphere that kicks off the festive season and boosts local trade and village life during these days.”
