Ciutadella City Council and Soca de Mots organize the 2nd Gathering of Glosa and Improvised Verse with a tribute to Miquel Ametller

Ciutadella City Council and the Soca de Mots Association are organizing the 2nd Gathering of Glosa and Improvised Verse, which this year will pay tribute to Miquel Ametller, the main driving force behind the revival of glosa in Menorca.

The activities will take place on May 29 and 30, 2026, at the Can Saura Cultural Space.

The programme will begin on Friday, May 29, at 7:30 pm with the screening of J. F. López Casasnovas’ interview with Miquel Ametller, to be held in the conference room on the second floor of Can Saura.

The following day, Saturday, May 30, also at 7:30 pm, the courtyard of the Can Saura Cultural Space will host a glosa performance by Soca de Mots (Menorca) and Cor de la Carxofa (Catalonia). All activities are free of charge and capacity is limited.

With this initiative, Ciutadella City Council reaffirms its commitment to popular culture and intangible cultural heritage, while paying tribute to a key figure in the recovery and dissemination of glosa in Menorca.
