A New Take on Cyrano, starring Rodo Gener, at Teatre des Born

This Saturday, May 23 at 8:30 p.m., Teatre des Born will host Cyrano, a contemporary reinterpretation of Edmond Rostand’s classic (Cyrano de Bergerac, 1897) by the company La Impaciència. The performance offers a vibrant, visual and surprising new reading of one of the great myths of world theatre.

With only three performers on stage — Rodo Gener, Xani Núñez and Salvador Oliva — the production transforms the story of Cyrano de Bergerac into an agile and imaginative theatrical adventure, where words, gesture and visual strength come together to bring multiple characters and emotions to life. The company embraces a contemporary dramaturgy while preserving the essence of the character: a brilliant, vulnerable and deeply in-love man.

This Cyrano plays with humour, poetry and human fragility to explore love, appearances and the need to be loved just as we are. The production also stands out for its ability to reinvent a classic text through contemporary stage language and powerful performances.

This event is also presented as a highly recommended cultural proposal for foodie travellers visiting Menorca who wish to complement their gastronomic experience with cultural activities.

The production is a co-production between Teatre Principal de Palma and La Impaciència Teatre.
